VA - There Must Be A Hole In Your Memory: A Tribute to The Sound & Adrian Borland (2014)

We have been working on this project for a several years and thanks to a German Sound fan, Thomas Keitsch, it started building momentum over the past year and a half, with quite a few bands starting to express interest. The tribute is finally starting to come together and with the interest continuing to grow, we have had to expand the idea of a single CD tribute to a double CD. Our plans are to get it released later this year or early next year, if all goes well. It will be called "There Must Be A Hole In Your Memory" taken from the lyrics to the song "Total Recall" and alludes to the fact that they have been almost forgotten as an amazing talent.
A few old friends of Adrian have agreed to help with some liner notes, like Jack Rabid (The Big Takeover magazine, Last Burning Embers, Springhouse), Adrian Janes (The Outsiders) and Phil King (Uncut magazine, Jesus & The Mary Chain, Lush, Felt, Apple Boutique, Biff Bang Pow, etc. etc.) and we have already gathered more than enough covers to fill a CD.

When we heard about Jean Paul Mierlo's wonderful project of producing a documentary to Adrian Borland and The Sound, we were very excited and really wanted to help out in some way. We asked if we could produce a special promotional CD featuring some of the covers we have received so far for our tribute, that could be used to help out with the crowdfunding. When Jean Paul agreed we got to work putting together a special package for the fans, which will no doubt become a collectors edition, as limited quantities will be made and used only for the crowdfunding, along with copies for the bands and some for promotional use. We will not be releasing it for sale. The full double CD tribute will be available for sale at a later date.
