"They met often, the two "ex" from Bordeaux Yoann Loustalot and Frederic Borey, and they have left us some nice traces of their complicity. This time it's a masterpiece they offer us, could bode well (if modern times willing to look a bit like the old days) an association of long-term, in the extension of what were (for example) the work of Art Farmer and Benny Golson. reference n 'is also not only allusive and historical: we can hear some of these great seniors in their game (and compositions).
Here is a beautifully hemmed music, written and arranged with great care, and the sense of nuance, music that refuses to throw anything outside of its own privacy, music whose background is melancholy but the form if it induces a perfect idea of ??happiness -bonheur the album title attributes to a pet, ironically perhaps, and maybe an ounce of truth. Happiness does he not hide somewhere in submission to what is we? And if it's music, and nothing else, and that it agrees to be the "idiot," as Lubat (while denying to accept being one, of course ...)?
In this quartet without piano, which does not forget one of the first to try out the genre was Ornette Coleman, all goes to the paradoxical joy of making beautiful music, although its content is marked multiple shadows. The dance is never far away either, which follows the movements of the body in their complexity, sometimes in their contradiction. Loustalot is a top, but it will climb (and engrave) others Borey is often in a register both retained and "white hot", as known to be Junior Cook; Yoni Zelnik and about Frederick Pasqua, it is to them that we owe to a large extent, this prevents from music to take us to the bottom.
