I love Thom's music because he is NOT afraid to write strong, BIG hooks. He writes the kinds of melodies that make me jealous. DAMN YOU Thom D'Arcy. Similar to his personal demeanour, he has a calm, collected way of delivering his vocals, with a healthy confidence ..and just enough vulnerability to feel like he's on your team. The fact that he is also the engineer and producer clearly helps get his vision across; sonically this record is exciting, inspired and beautiful. It's weird when it wants to be weird, and fun when it wants to be fun. The energy of the record feels adventurous and driving, with an underlying happiness to it. My rating: 5/5 bags of popcorn. - STEVE BAYS
