Esteemed NYC multimedia artist Delia Gonzalez presents the films and solo piano soundtrack of her most recent project, 'In Remembrance', augmented by Bryce Hackford remixes, some ten years after her landmark DFA release, 'The Days of Mars' with Gavin Russom. Inside you'll discover a DVD with her four 16mm films accompanied by a sparkling solo piano suite of cascading scales inspired a text written by Henry Miller as well as by Gurdjieff's theory that "to play scales is to become more in tune with your inner self." In fact, the whole project deals with inspiration, or, in Delia's own words, "The film is meant to re-create the fleeting sensation of inspiration - that sacred feeling when suddenly your mind clears and you know exactly what you're meant to create and become." Unfortunately we haven't copped the film yet and can't really comment on it but, the musically speaking it's a canny follow-on from 'The Days Of Mars', exchanging synth arpeggios for hand-played runs, whilst Hackford's remixed B-side diffuses those silvery keys between Basinski-esque obfuscation and sleek, extended techno trips recalling Carl Craig's remix work for 'Relevee'.
