The members of Richmond's No BS! Brass Band have performed with some of the biggest names in indie music—from Bon Iver and Megafaun to Feist, Sharon Van Etten and Matt E White—along with jazz, R&B, and reggae greats like Gladys Knight, Ozomatli, and the Wailers.
Nearly every member has conservatory training,holding various degrees from Bachelor to Doctor and uses that knowledge to the fullest but never lets all that fancy learning get in the way of a good old fashion THROW DOWN! They are here to make you freak the heck out!
No BS! Brass has released 5 albums of nearly all original material in the 7 years they have been together. Two of which were released this summer: one of original material titled 'RVA All Day' Made it as high as #4 on the Itunes Jazz charts and was #15 Jazz Contemporary Album on the Billboard charts.The other release is 'Fight Song: A Tribute to Charles Mingus' receiving 3 stars by Downbeat Magazine and acclaim from such Jazz heavy weights as Dave Douglas and Steven Bernstein.

No BS Brass has been touring up and down the east coast for the last several years playing many great venues and festivals such as The Lincoln Center, The Kennedy Center, NPR's Tiny Desk Concert, Forbes Headquarters, The Hamilton, The Bob Edwards Show on SeriusXM radio,The Regatta bar, WGN Chicago, Floydfest, Hopscotch Fest and the Festival for new Trumpet music.
