Boom Forest offer up a great first album here. Ranging from lo-fi to a understated folk-rock, the album ebbs and flows like the Wisconsin countryside rivers that the group formed around. Wooden heart is a lyrically powerful ballad that can instantly pull you in like a metaphor-laden Ben Gibbard ballad. Baby teeth is a subtle folk rock tune that builds and grows perfectly. The rest of the album is strong and forms a solid debut for Boom Forest.
