Michael Joly - Reed Flute Solos (1998)

This is a beautiful, relaxing CD. The music is unconventional and full of strange and wonderful tones and melodies. Joly's flutes on this album are all hand-made reed flutes from the area near where he lives, and this album reflects the uniqueness origin of each flute. The music is unlike any other, layering the haunting whispers of the flutes above ethereal ambient backgrounds and taking the listener on a journey to exotic landscapes of the mind. 5/5 stars for a perfect execution of what this album strives to be.
