“This album feels like it’s taken a long time to come to fruition, but that’s where some of the beauty is,” Mosteller says. “We lived and traveled with these songs, rewriting them and reshaping them…These 10 songs are us breathing out what we feel like God’s been doing around and within us. They share a piece of the lives we’ve been living these past two years.”
The album’s first single, “Shelter,” was just released and is already receiving early praise and adds from radio listeners. The song’s bold sound represents the band’s intentional work to embody the essence of their live performances on the album tracks. And while the entire record is rooted in Carrolton’s signature indie-rock vibe and tight harmonies, they stretched themselves sonically to take listeners on a journey of unique material.
“Part of our excitement and the fun of making this album was pushing ourselves to explore different sounds and themes, while still reaching back to what makes us us,” Mosteller added. “You’ll hear some bigger sounds than we’ve ever done before. But we’ve always fought to make our music as honest as possible, and this album feels like our best attempt at that.”
They’ll share those new sounds, along with some of their tunes from previous albums, on tour this fall. The band’s Everything Or Nothing tour will run from September 28 through October 29, featuring Hannah Kerr as a guest performer.
