Born as the son of American parents in Alsace, Pete "Wyoming" Bender was raised in the USA and played saxophone, drums and guitar in in a high school band. He ended up in Germany in 1962 when his father's army posting was transferred to Munich. He was the singer of The Flaming Stars in 1964. Wyoming were not an actual band, but really the solo project of Pete Bender aided by Munich session musicians, with former Jeronimo front man Rainer Marz also featuring on both albums.
