This show took place at “The Schnitz”, a historic Italian Renaissance style movie/vaudeville house opened in 1928 and re-named in 1930 The Paramount Theatre (and later Schnitzer Hall or “The Schnitz”) with a capacity of 2,808. Baby Gramps was the opening act. During the pause between The Asse Festival and Guelah (The Fly), the band teased a Neil Young sit-in, an inside joke dating back to their last Oregon shows that spring. Reba included a tease of Dixie. Trey sang the verses of Fee through his megaphone and Fee’s usual outro was extended. It’s Ice included a piano solo, The Simpsons secret language and another unusual outro. Harry Hood started with repeating waves of It’s Ice and reggae-style “Yeeeaaahhh” testimony from Fish. Hold Your Head Up sandwiched the second and last performance of Nothin’ But A Nothin’ – a duet with Baby Gramps on guitar and vocals and Fish on vacuum. The final Free Bird encore of 1993 was performed with microphones. After this show the band and crew traveled 634 miles overnight to San Francisco where they had a day off. 8/26/93 Portland was released in 2018 at LivePhish.com.
