Circus - In The Arena (1977) [2001] Lossless

Pearl coming from South Africa, formed in 1975 in Port Elizabeth. The band Circus had great impact and local popularity in the second half of the 70s, incorporating theatrical elements and Glam visual at their shows. Nevertheless, the group disbanded soon after fights between members, some even joined the Clout in the 80s. They released only one LP in 1977, remastered and reissued in 2001.
In the Arena consists of nine short tracks, varied influences of glam / hard rock of the 70's style Bowie and T. Rex, with edgy guitar riffs and solos with some commercial intent; Progressive rock also appears with domain synthesizers. Great vocals of Bernie Millar deserves mention with all lyrics in English. For the tracks best are "Liberated Lady", "Long Legged Lady," "Speed Queen" and the cover of "Conquistador". Although a bit generic, a good gem for fans of hard rock / glam with prog touches.
