Following a request from the widow of jazz singer and poet Claude Nougaro, Belgian pop vocalist Maurane released this 2009 tribute to her former mentor five years after his death. Produced by Alain Cluzeau, Nougaro ou L'Esperance en L'Homme includes 15 cover versions of both his most popular songs ("Le Jazz et la Java," "Toulouse"), and some lesser-known tracks ("Allee Des Brouillards," "Gratte-Moi La Tete"). The follow-up to Si Aujord'Hui also includes the singles "Rimes" and "Armstrong," and a duet with French singer Calogero on "Tu Verras."
