Plan B - Heaven Before All Hell Breaks Loose (2018)

It’s his first record in 8 long years and a lot has changed for Benjamin Drew, alias Plan B. Most importantly, he has a four year old daughter now, that has changed his outlook on life. However, Plan B bemoans he’s sacrificed a lot for this record, as he has been away from his daughter for 3 long months. This sacrifice has produced 14 tracks that are full of grit and emotion. The artist has evolved from his early rapping days, citing that he has “nothing to be angry about” as he is content with his current surroundings, and so he doesn’t find it necessary to use this form of expression anymore. Despite this, Heaven Before All Hell Breaks Loose isn’t lacking, with Drew’s vocals being deeply rooted in Rhythm & Blues, with hip-hop beats setting the pace throughout. The energetic reggae dubstep mix Guess Again is the most energetic track on the LP, with distorted vocals that have an MIA feel about them. While the single It’s A War is a battle cry for everyone to keep fighting for change in the world. This fourth studio album is his most complete and honest yet, and one that will refresh the memories of many that Plan B was really our first choice. We've a lot to be Grateful for.
