The duo JÆRV, composed of leadman Amanda Glindvad and producer Mathias Pedersen Smidt, is ready with their second EP, Smuk & Ond, which raises the level of last year's debut EP with a highly considered and not least well-functioning musical expression.
The duo has also worked with Carsten Heller, producer of The Minds of 99, Spleen United and Nephew, on the EP's five songs, which seems to have helped expand the characteristic universe of JERRV's music.
The EP's first issue, "Awaits You", begins with a fast, wavy sea of large and small syntheses that meet and become a large and very well-produced electropop theme, already showing Mathias Pedersen Smith's abilities as a producer. In the verse, Amanda Glindvad's bright vocal plays with a resounding and sliding 808 bass - A combination of bass and vowel that goes on the whole plate, creating a very characteristic and catchy sound. The great bass breaks of the bridge lead to the ambition, where 80's synth sound does not get too little, and where Glindvad's simple but captivating lyric is presented with the hook; "I think you're waiting for an adventure".
