Mary Ndiaye - Black Grace (2018)

After 10 years as lead lead in the band Blacknuss, Mary Ndiaye finally released her debut album Black Grace on her own record label RockAfrick Records. With this album, I can finally tell my story, just according to my own visions, and it is so incredible liberation to freely create something based on oneself. It has not always been obvious. BLACK GRACE is primarily about overcoming all the fears that arise in meeting the social norms and ideals that all too often stop one from being the one you always wanted to be. With a postcolonial look at these ideals in front of me this evening, songs of a bit heavier and deeper character to then break off with a happy and positive mood in lovely African dance dance. BLACK GRACE is a tribute to all women, regardless of origin and I really look forward to sharing this experience with you - Mary Ndiaye
