Parov Stelar - Rough Cuts (2004)

This is a wonderful, sophisticated, slow-jazzy/downtempo/chill album that shines amongst the many releases of 2005. Parov Stelar is a talented composer and maker of electronic dance grooves in Austria who slowed down the pace for his first full-length release and turned out this gem. Featuring gorgeous vocals, piano, deep, slow beats, and meticulously crafted melodies, I rate this album along with the ranks of Tosca's "Suzuki" and "Opera," and Kruder and Dorfmeister's "K & D Sessions."
