VA - Entertainment Weekly - The Greatest Hits 1988 (2000)

Entertainment Weekly: The Greatest Hits 1988 focuses mostly on bright, accessible dance-pop and pop-oriented R&B, plus a couple of ballads and Bobby McFerrin's a cappella smash "Don't Worry Be Happy." Nearly everything here made the Top Ten on the pop charts, and whatever didn't came awfully close. Although the compilation doesn't present the full spectrum of 1988's musical mainstream, it is a highly enjoyable, musically consistent listen. Other highlights include INXS' "Need You Tonight," Terence Trent D'Arby's "Wishing Well," DJ Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince's "Parents Just Don't Understand," and Billy Ocean's "Get Outta My Dreams, Get Into My Car," among many others.
