This is one of the more obscure Dave Frishberg CDs, made for the French label Bloomdido. On some of the selections, the pianist/vocalist/lyricist is joined by baritonist Turk Mauro, trombonist Glenn Ferris, and bassist Michel Gaudry, but he is the main star throughout. Frishberg sounds excellent on a pair of solo instrumental medleys of songs associated with Ivie Anderson and Duke Ellington, and introduces his memorable lyrics with "Another Song About Paris." In addition Frishberg is in fine vocal form on "Where You At?" (which was given new words), "I'm an Old Cowhand," and "Tulip or Turnip." An excellent outing.
