Keba - Filmstrip (2018)

She brings an incredibly vibrant energy to the stage that mesmerizes you and nourishes the soul. A Trinidadian-born artist with rhythm in her blood, Keba burst onto the scene after completing a degree in Chemistry, when she decided to pursue her passion for music and songwriting instead. In 2013, she debuted Wildfire, her first studio album, which she composed in collaboration with producer Erik Nunez and released under their independent label, Labrat Music. Since then, the singer/songwriter has earned recognition for her original songs from both the USA Songwriting Competition and the International Songwriting Competition.

Keba Williams' musical talent is reminiscent of classic artists like Whitney Houston, Aretha Franklin and Chaka Khan. Her original songs are a sensual fusion of Pop/R&B/Soul, accented with exotic rhythms and cinematic climaxes. Noted for delivering powerful vocals and an electrifying stage presence, she is making her mark in today's music industry with live shows that never fail to move an audience to their feet. Keba regularly headlines venues in South Florida with her band and made her international stage debut as an opening act for Jill Scott and Kool & the Gang at the 2015 Tobago Jazz Experience. In 2016, Keba embarked on a European tour of Portugal, France, England and Spain.

As an independent artist determined to blaze her own trail, that tour became a turning point for Keba’s career. She saw within herself the power to make her own dreams come true and let them take her to places she had never been. In 2017, Keba decided to release the original EP, Filmstrip to share the stories of coming into her own as an artist. The songs in her EP mark the eve of a transformation from a girl into a woman. Keba's newest release, Filmstrip Deluxe features, some of the hidden treasures of her journey. Bonus tracks Crush and Runaway draw us deeper into Keba’s world. Like musical polaroids, these songs capture her experience as she discovers new love and ultimately new heartbreak.
