Native American flutes were used for many purposes. They could be played to attract the attention of a pretty girl. Or it could be played to heal the sick, help in meditation and other spiritual rituals. The NW Coastal tribes were known to use both cedar and bone whistles for dances and invoking the spirits. I am part of the Plains Cree and we used it for the pretty girls. Trust me on this . . .
