Ceri Evans Sextet - Hidden Treasure (1995/2018) lossless

The Ceri Evans Sextet will, by the laws of nature, always be associated to the infamous Hidden Treasure LP. After all, this is the one and only album that the outfit ever released, first dropping back in a distant 1995; there is no way to tell this from the sound of the record, however, as this gear is pretty damn timeless. Until now, it has been difficult to get a hold of, particularly in physical format, but Sunship Recordings have done a wonderful thing by reissuing it digitally, and with an updated re-mastering for good measure. In short, this is a great, British jazz album that waves the flag up high for independent musicians who prefer not to commercialise themselves and/or be bound down by the major labels' vision of what jazz ought to be. We won't spoil it for you, it's worth a good listen and some note-taking...
