Grant Stewart - Live at Smalls (2012) FLAC

Native of Toronto, Canada, Grant Stewart started making a name for himself as a robust and creative tenor saxophone player at an early age. Drawing his influences from Don Byas, Coleman Hawkins and Sonny Rollins, Stewart has a diverse and deep repertoire of old American song classics and bebop tunes. He has performed with a number of jazz greats including Jimmy Cobb and Donald Byrd. A frequent performer at Smalls Jazz Club, Stewart's album features his regular working band including the legendary Tardo Hammer on piano, young bass prodigy David Wong and Grant's brother Phil Stewart on drums.
