The Mamas and the Papas have become an indelible part of Sixties pop music folklore, thanks to such enduring hit singles as Monday Monday, California Dreamin’ and Dedicated To The One I Love. The four-piece harmony group became closely identified with flower power and ‘the summer of love’ in 1967, epitomising for many what the whole hippy movement was all about.
