Were these 'petits motets' intended 'to be sung at Benediction by the hundred daughters of mercy' really written by Henry Madin? Such is the view of Anne-Catherine Bucher, who conducts the Concert Lorrain in these works, which, at any rate, are entirely worthy of the musician who left his mark on musical life at Verdun cathedral, and whom Titon du Tillet called 'one of the foremost motet composers of our age'.
