Gordon MacRae - The Best Things In Life Are Free (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) (1956/2018)

His voice was one in an eternity and I don't think there will ever be one like his again (and he was totally gorgeous!). Lots of people will have seen him in 'Oklahoma!' and 'Carousel,' but how many have seen his last musical film 'The Best Things in Life are Free?' He plays Buddy DeSylva, one third of the song writing trio of Buddy DeSylva, Lew Brown and Ray Henderson, who were one of the most important song writing teams of the twenties. This isn't the actual soundtrack from the film, but an album based on the on it with songs that he sings in solo arrangements. My favourites are 'The Birth of the Blues,' 'One More Time' and the title song, 'The Best Things in Life are Free.' Definitely one of his best albums.
