Those who remember the magnificent quintet of Pentacle (2002), with two trumpets (Michel Marre and Jean-Luc Cappozzo) will find here the pleasure of hearing the music of Sophia Domancich when "blowers" seize it. I would go so far as to say that the writing of the pianist for small formation fills the space not occupied in France by this jazz at the same time very advanced and at the same time strongly structured which existed in Great Britain, with like emblematic musicians Tubby Hayes, Dizzy Reece, and of course Joe Harriott (see the indispensable little box of ten European Jazz CDs, New Sounds from The Old Continent Membran).

Add to that the pleasure of a production that associates Gérard Terronès (who unfortunately left us on March 16th) and the whole team of the Dynamo de Pantin, the perfection of Nasheet Waits' drumming, the careful precision of Hélène Labarrière, the controlled audacity of Géraldine Laurent, and the incredible vivacity of a Ray Anderson fully himself, and you will understand that in matters of election, I do not hesitate. In this music there is anger, suspense, tenderness, yes, some evidence. That it is that of Alice (Lewis Carroll) only confirms my allusion to the so-called perfidious: Albion.
