The music of The Foto Sisters is a charming and unique blend of sacred, classical, cinematic, and pop styles, with a hint of Celtic. Audiences across the United States have been delighted and inspired by their heartfelt melodies and graceful instrumentation. For over sixteen years, this classically-trained sibling trio has appeared in many different venues, including churches, conferences, schools, cantatas, weddings, and charity events. “It’s hard to remember life as sisters without music,” says Gaylyn.

The Foto Sisters have also performed with many nationally acclaimed artists. In 2015 the Foto Sisters were invited to perform for the National Day of Prayer at the Louisiana State Capitol. They followed this with 2016 and 2017 appearances at the Louisiana Governor’s Prayer Breakfast. They have also had opportunities to perform at the National Quartet Convention and the Creation Museum.

The group is currently working with producers Phillip Keveren and Kent Hooper and have worked with notable producers Steve Mauldin and Joshua Spacht. The Sisters have released six CD recordings, “My Faith Looks Up to Thee” (2009), “It Took a Miracle” (2011), “Morning by Morning” (2013), “Rejoice in Hope” (2015), “What Lies Beyond” (2017), and “Lullaby” (2018).

In addition to their regular appearances as a trio, the sisters have individually won concerto competitions, soloing with the Rapides Symphony Orchestra and the Louisiana Youth Orchestra. They have also held leadership positions as concertmaster, principal violist, and principal cellist in the Louisiana Youth Orchestra. The Sisters have studied music with many internationally acclaimed artists, including Louisiana State University professors, and currently with Daniel Lelchuk, and Borislava Iltcheva. They have also received coaching from the Harlem String Quartet, Peter Slowik, Christer Tepper, and many others. They have participated in summer music camps including the Premiere Orchestral Institute & Chamber Music Academy, Credo Music, and Festival South Orchestral & Chamber Music Academy. They have been mentored by the late Bob Walters (White House arranger and founder of Washington Music Ministries) and also attended the Ben Speer’s Stamps-Baxter School of Music. The Sisters have also trained with various vocal artists and pedagogues.

The trio’s love for children led them to teach violin, viola, cello, and piano in their own private studios for several years. As far as the future, the Foto Sisters realize that life comes in seasons, and they desire to live this season to the fullest until the Lord leads their lives in a new direction. “Life is not about us; it’s about the Glory of God,” says Adelyn. “Together, we have seen the grace of God in our family and in each of our lives up to this point,” adds Gaylyn, “and we want to pass that along to others, one way being through our music.”

Their roots run deep on many acres of country land in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, the town they call home. When they are not on the road, the Foto sisters can be found pursuing various hobbies, enjoying their pets, playing regular games of Ultimate Frisbee, and connecting heart-to-heart with other families while dining around their family table.
