The PEE WEE BLUESGANG feat. RICHARD HAGEL & THOMAS HESSE in top technical form. Great concert recording from 1983 (Hamburg / Logo and Iserlohn / Schillerplatz-Open-Air) now available for the first time on CD. 'Absolutely Live' will be released in Jewelcase format including twelve-page booklet on SIREENA. The Iserlohn-based PEE WEE BLUESGANG is one of Germany's leading blues rock formations, and has not only released seventeen albums to date in its more than thirty-year history, but has also made thousands of appearances at home and abroad. Be it blues festival, rock context or classical music. Event, it always understands the formation, which began in 1977 as a blues cover band (with the later ZOFF singer REINER HÄNSCH on piano and micro) to inspire their audience (as in their 81st WDR Rock Palace gig) by furious joy of playing. Further evidence of this may be the present album 'Absolutely Live', whose recordings were recorded in 1983 in the Hamburg cult club logo and the Schillerplatz open-air festival in their hometown Iserlohn. Shortly before, together with DRAFI DEUTSCHER on stage and in the studio, the quintet presented itself on the band's only self-published material in top performer form. So the band around frontman RICHARD HAGEL convinced with a very powerful mix of blues, rock and boogie influenced by inspired solo parts, parts of the repertoire like 'Down Healed Blues', 'Playing Funky' or 'Summer Sun' from their then (incomprehensibly ) unreleased, recorded together with pop legend DRAFI DEUTSCHER longplayer. Among the highlights of the album is undoubtedly the approximately ten-minute version of the BILLY - ROBERTS JR. Composition (and HENDRIX classic) 'Hey Joe', in which guitarist THOMAS HESSE presented himself in a soloistic form.(google)
