First off, let me start off by saying that 2018 has been a great year for hip hop! If you’re still out here complaining about the lack of spitters, well, all I can say is that you’re not looking hard enough.

With that being said, Recognize Ali is definitely carrying on tradition with his second project this year titled God’s Vision. The production on this album takes you back to that soulful gritty boom bap reminiscent of Raekwon’s Only Built 4 Cuban Linx.

Ali definitely has no problem sharing the spotlight on songs “Tomahawk Blades” featuring Sage lnfinite and Crimeapple and “5 Horseman of the Apocalypse” featuring Spit Gemz, G.S Advance, Eff Yoo and Aye Wun.

But it’s the tracks that Ali rocks on solo that makes you realize how good he actually is. On “Eminence”, my favorite track, Ali gives you a glimpse of himself while spittin’ deep lines like, “how you fall asleep when the reaper is awake?…” over a soulful backdrop produced by D. Mar. Also touching on the youths’ addiction to syrup and pills, it goes to show you that there are layers to true lyricism.
