Papik is a musical project born from an idea of the roman arranger and composer Nerio Poggi, author and producer ranging from Pop to Nu Jazz, from Bossa to Nu Soul and who collaborated among others, with Mario Biondi in the albums "Handful of Soul "as co-author of the song" Gig ", and in the album" I Love You More "in which appears as the author of the songs" Rebirth "and" Moonlight in July ", is also arranger in the song that gives the title to the album" I Love You More ".
The choice of the name Papik originates from a nickname given to the young Nerio by his mother, who after seeing the scene of the birth of the newborn Papik in the film by Nicholas Ray "White Shadows", noted the similarity between the two.
In 2009 he released the debut album "Rhythm of Life" (Irma records) which contains the single "Staying For Good" sung by Alan Scaffardi '. The song is a great success and is broadcast in heavy rotation by the largest Italian national radio networks (Radio Deejay, Radio Capital, Radio Montecarlo, Radio 105, Radio Rai etc.) as well as by many British radio stations such as Jazz FM and BBC.
In May 2012 the second album "Music Inside" was released, preceded by the single "The Puzzle Of Life" sung by Ely Bruna, which was chosen by Gallardagalante, a well-known fashion line made in Japan for the ad for the new advertising campaign. The album is also released in Japan and is receiving considerable success.
In the wake of the successful third album "Sounds For the Open Road" Papik reproposes the double format with this new album called "Little Songs For Big Elevators".
30 tracks including unreleased songs and covers ranging from Pop, Funky, Soul, Bossa Nova, Jazz and acoustic ballads. We also find an instrumental piece inspired by the famous film themes of the Italian school. Many guests also international to embellish everything.
Among these we find: Sarah Jane Morris, the most important English soul jazz singer, already a guest on the previous album; Anduze, an American soul singer who's guest on Parov Stelar's latest album; the Jamaican Anglo singer and saxophonist Kenn Bailey; the historic American soul singer Ronnie Jones; the new talent of Italian jazz Walter Ricci; the solo voice of the Dirotta Su Cuba Simona Bencini; Neja, one of the most popular Italian voices in the world in the Dance House market; Nadia Straccia, American singer and actress of Italian origin; Alex Sammarini, singers and guitarist of the band Tree Gees, the best European cover band of Bee Gees; the Italian-Australian singer Alfredo Malabello; and again Ida Landsberg, Marta Capponi, Andrea Veschini, Frankie Pearl, Sara Galimberti, Letizia Liberati and historic Papik's collaborators as Alan Scaffardi, Ely Bruna, Francesca Gramegna, Dagmar Segers, Erika Scherlin, Frankie Lovecchio and the voices of his parallel project The Soultrend Orchestra.
