Can You Feel It? deals with the themes of love, compassion, and social awareness/responsibility. Both Jacob and the title track are about taking the time to notice each other and to speak with one another. It’s about meeting everyone with openness, without judgment, and to realize that we all have a unique story to tell and stories to become enriched by. From my street performances in the French Quarter in New Orleans, where many homeless seemed to find comfort and a feeling of being spoken to when I was singing, it became clear to me that throughout life, we all are merely searching for connection and love. The need to be seen is inherent in us all, and when we see a human being with a seemingly different life than our own, by initiating a conversation with them, we often come to discover that we have more in common than we think. They say that it’s the frequent contact with random stranger, which is number one factor in longevity. I believe it.

Have a Little Faith is a song about trusting that our problems will dissolve when we get back in touch with ourselves, fx. by taking a walk in nature. It’s about feeling the pain when it arises, but also letting it pass by letting go. The song is about friendship; about simply lending an ear and being present for each other, the biggest gift we can give.
