The power trio of Terje, Jesper and Joachim could be called the Danish mash-up of ash ra tempel and Grand Funk Railroad. Heavy sludgy riffs, rock hard rhythm section, and lyrics that grope for both the word and the chick who just walked in the door. Psych and cock rock both floated their way to denmark intact; terje, jesper & joachim knew all the right moves, and this 1970 release is as beautiful a slab of boogie and blue cheer as you'll hear this year. There are only about 450 copies made of this reissue, so contact the great shadocks label before it is too late.
All of the tracks here are gold, but careful spins of "Like my Sister" "Between the shields" or "Sorry it's the end" ought to seriously obliterate any despair you may have contracted from today's checking in to alt-rock radio or mtv2. From the days when music at least about fitting into a gravy-train, terje, jesper & joachim resurface with a gem, reminding us of the goodies that went under the radar even then.
