Antonio Gómez (Almería, 1972) began his guitar self-taught at the age of ten, later perfected in several international jazz seminars in Madrid, Barcelona and Vitoria where he studied with artists such as Pat Metheny, Bruce Forman, Mike Richmond, Adam Nussbaum, Ken Werner, Barry Harris, Trilok Gurtu, Manolo Sanlúcar, Michael Grossman, etc.
He is awarded a scholarship by The Collective School of Music in New York where he attends the Advanced Performance Program, obtaining the distinctions of Perfect Attendance Award and Most Improved Student Award.
In New York he studied guitar with Chris Biesterfeldt and Sheryl Bailey, musical production with Tony Conniff and Maciek Schejbal, and composition and arrangements with Fernando Hernandez and Jacob Sacks.
He also has a degree in Musicology from the University of Granada and a Professor of Music in Secondary Education, having taught in the specialty of Music Education Teaching at the University of Almería and at the Miguel Hernández University in Elche.
He has played with some of the most important jazz musicians in Spain such as Carlos Carli, Victor Merlo, Carles Benavent, Pedro Ruyblas, José Vazquez "Roper", Francis Pose, David Lenker, Tito Alcedo, Javier Ruibal and Nono Garcia. in concerts, jazz festivals and recordings with Tomás San Miguel and Jorge Pardo.
Has rotated with Javier Ruibal for Spain and America.
In the United States he has played and recorded with Kim Plainfield, Bob Quaranta, Francesco Beccaro, Norbert Stachel, etc.
In 1997 publishes its first disc of arrangements on Christmas subjects with the collaboration of Tomatito.
With her second album, Aires de Mar, she is a favorite artist on the United States radio station Smooth Jazz Beach Radio in Long Beach, California.
In 2010 he won in Spain the 3rd edition of the guitar competition "Yamaha Guitar Hero" organized by Yamaha Guitars Ibérica
At the beginning of 2015 publishes its third disc on arrangements of Spanish popular music under the title of "Alcalá Street, Jazz from Spain" through the label Youkali Music.
He has also composed music for theater and audiovisual works.
