Hannah Truckenbrod is a jazz vocalist that hails from Aurora, Illinois. From a young age, Hannah was immersed in the arts through school and community groups where she played multiple instruments, performed in shows, and took art classes. In high school, the ambitious musician was invited to sing with the jazz ensemble, and her love for jazz classics was established. Hannah’s curiosity for different singing styles and the jazz idiom led her to pursue musical studies at the university level.
The young artist has performed with acclaimed musicians such as Kurt Elling, Ben Folds, Randy Brecker, Jo Lawry, Peter Eldridge, and The New York Voices. Attending Western Michigan University on a vocal jazz scholarship, Hannah spent four years as a leading member of WMU’s premier vocal jazz ensemble, Gold Company.
Hannah has performed internationally and appears on multiple DownBeat Student Music Award-winning recordings earning recognition for “Best Vocal Jazz Ensemble” and “Outstanding Performance". In 2018, Hannah was awarded for her Outstanding Solo in Gold Company's performance at the Monterey Next Generation Jazz Competition, where the group placed 1st in their division.
In April of 2018, Hannah graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Jazz Studies from Western Michigan University. She studied with Greg Jasperse and Sunny Wilkinson.
Hannah is currently on tour as the female vocalist for The World Famous Glenn Miller Orchestra, performing many of the beloved songs on "Nobody Else But Me" backed up by a 16-piece big band. The band tours nationally and internationally year-round.
