Oren Ambarchi’s Black Truffle label have had a formidable release schedule of late, what with Alvin Lucier, Francis Plagne & Crys Cole, and Eiko Ishibashi & Darin Gray putting out some of 2018’s finest records. This reissue of Ruedi Hausermann 1995 record 'Galerie Randolph' looks to continue this streak over into 2019. The work of a composer with a background in absurdist-music-theatre, this album is as unconventional as you would expect, but this approach is the very thing that makes it thrilling, with its avant-jazz sax and highly unpredictable percussion.
