More prime cuts from the downtempo kings of Kingston (upon Hull), with the ever-prolific Mark Blissenden and Andrew Burdall serving up their eighth album in as many years for Dave Brennand's consistently solid U.K.-based exponent of all things easy. Like the preceding Best Foot Forward, regular Pork sessioners Bernard Moss and Tom Harland are drafted in to add their respective flute and guitar to Baby Mammoth's slow and easy grooves, a dub low end underlining the smoky, late-night feeling of the grooves. Work as a live band is apparent through the freewheeling and easy arrangements, with the lazy live mix of "Pink Elephants" offering a highlight, drafting in Andy Dimmack on percussion and Carl Hogarth on keys for some beautifully airy sonic smoke rings.
