Released in 1962, Serge Gainsbourg's fourth album proved to be transitional, featuring his unique brand of French jazz pop but also incorporating elements of twist and Latin influences. Pianist, arranger and conductor Alain Goraguer returns for his fourth consecutive collaboration with Gainsbourg. No. 4 includes two of Gainsbourg's early singles, Les goémons and Requiem pour un twisteur.
