The first thing you notice when Traditionally Wound is on stage is that the guys are having so much fun. Their smiles and humor are contagious and it soon results in audience participation, clapping, howling and laughter creating a warm and friendly atmosphere.
Family oriented and steeped in rural roots these guys deliver their music with a contemporary edge while staying close to the traditional sounds that drew us all to bluegrass music.

This group of guys are no strangers to the stage, all are seasoned veterans who have been playing bluegrass music for many years and each has been nominated and won many awards over the years during their tenure in other bands both instrumentally and vocally. With three great lead singers who are all closely related they deliver family harmony the way it is supposed to be done.
With John & Justin playing rhythm and switching off on guitar breaks and lead vocals along with Nick playing mandolin & jumping in with lead vocals the 3 provide harmony backbone of this band. Anchored by Sheldon Speedie on bass, Dave Jack on banjo it allows Tyler Beckett who spent a few years with the Chapman’s to weave his fiddle throughout the mix making what many fans call a wall of sound.
The other strong point of this band is strong original material as both John & Nick are prolific bluegrass song writers who have had their material recorded by not only Traditionally Wound but many other bluegrass bands in North America.
