Sebastian Bru - A Deux (2019)

The two young Austrians have been playing together for more than ten years. But in the past, the calendars of Stefan Stroissnig (piano) and Sebastian Bru (solo cellist of the Vienna Philharmonic) were so full that the time for a joint recording was simply never enough. But now it finally worked. No wonder, then, that the Vienna duo has chosen pieces that are close to their hearts. And regardless of whether Schumann's "Five Pieces in Folk Style", Fauré's "Elegy" or Rachmaninoff's Cello Sonata, they always enjoy listening to music together - although or perhaps because a certain amount of typically Viennese melancholy resonates with them.
