Christine Carter & Duo Concertante - Invitation - Trios for Clarinet, Violin and Piano (2019)

Acclaimed Canadian clarinetist Christine Carter , and Canada’s premiere violin and piano ensemble, Duo Concertante (violinist Nancy Dahn and pianist Timothy Steeves), have collaborated on an exciting new recording entitled INVITATION: TRIOS FOR CLARINET, VIOLIN AND PIANO (Marquis). This new offering from the trio contains twentieth-century works for clarinet, violin, and piano, featuring four diverse works by Francis Poulenc, Aram Khachaturian, and Patrick Cardy.

Invitation features Khachaturian’s Trio for Clarinet, Violin, and Piano (1932); Milhaud’s Suite (1936); the delightful incidental music from the play L’invitation au château (Invitation to the Castle) by Francis Poulenc (1947); and Patrick Cardy’s exuberant Tango! , written in 1989.
