KLANGFAHRER are probably Aachen's most well-known jazz formation of recent years. Not least because they have consistently followed their path for more than a decade.

The 2010 first album "Humanity" was followed by the second work in 2014. The very own style of the band is still unmistakable and yet matured. The most important attributes are unchanged: shrill, lyrical, atmospheric and groovy. The 4 protagonists have undoubtedly found their sound world!

A result of years of intensive collaboration in the same cast, a habit that is usually found more in the pop and rock scene. Also, the fact that all musicians contribute compositions to the complete work is more common in rocky climes than in jazz, where a musician is often the obvious mastermind of a formation.

The KLANGFAHRER but are clearly attributable to jazz, even if you look in vain for the second album "Colors of Trance" for a swing basin or walking bass.

"Making complex rhythms and arrangements sound easy and understandable is a specialty of the Klangfahrer" says Gerd Breuer, the drummer of the quartet. He has played in his career with many greats of the national and international jazz scene and is responsible for the Klangfahrern for many compositions.

For the musical realization of their ideas, Klangdrivers use a variety of means. For example, in addition to various saxophones, Johannes Flamm now also uses clarinet and bass clarinet. Thomas Berndt uses soft Fender Rhodes sounds alongside distorted piano sounds. In addition, he likes to experiment with reverberation, delays and other effects to create the sound driver typical sounds. Bernd Kistemann delivers the warm, woody foundation of the sound spaces and at the same time ensures rich grooves, which are creatively implemented, supplemented and modulated by Gerd Breuer.
