Jenni Rivera - Joyas Prestadas - Pop (2019)

A veteran who has spent the past fifteen years branding her name in the latin music culture, and will continue to do so with the (Banda) edition of this album, Rivera believes this version -- Joyas Prestadas (Pop) -- will be the major breakthrough she needs to expand her footprint even further into the American market.

Rivera takes a long awaited, and more calculated step, than Ricky Martin did when he crossed over with his self-titled LP in 1999, and like the former Menudo member, the diva sings about ‘Livin' La Vida Loca.'

Similar to its counterpart (Banda), Joyas Prestadas (Pop) shares the same 11-song tracklisting and the lyrics to boot, but the biggest difference lies within the musical style. Rivera usually sings over a variety of horns, mariachi and traditional latin sounds, but in this edition, the backdrops are R&B-laced, contain a late 90s acoustic pop vibe and have epic Disney movie production that magically lends itself to sensations like "Basta Ya" and "A Que No Le Cuentas."

Sure, Rivera might be a household name in the Latin-speaking world, but Joyas Prestadas (Pop) could be the album that makes her a household name on planet earth.
