Kate Wolf had a great affinity for the California coast, and she frequently performed in Mendocino County venues in the middle years of her career. These twenty songs are from shows she performed in Mendocino from 1979 to 1982 with her long-time accompanist Nina Gerber. Of the eight songs previously unreleased on Kate Wolf albums, three were written by Kate.
The original fifteen hours of shows were were recorded from the soundboard on semi-pro equipment. A team familiar with Kate’s music (including Nina) sifted through nearly two hundred songs and found twenty that would meet Kate’s high standards and make for a great new Kate Wolf album.
