When the outstanding Dutch flutist Mark Alban Lotz agreed to the joint recording of the material with Grzegorz Piasecki (double bass) and Wojciech Buliński (drums), little indicated that the spontaneously organized session would prove so fruitful. Material registration was made during one day in March 2018 at the Damnrich Studio in Wrocław. Lotz already had several days of workshops and performances, while Buliński was forced to leave the studio in the middle of recordings due to high fever. The circumstances were not particularly favorable.
Regardless, despite the highly incidental nature, "The Wroclaw Sessions" is a model example of musical chemistry and the essence of jazz sound. Watchful, and at the same time incredibly vivid Bulińskiego percussion and meaty, swinging double bass Piasecki build a rich rhythmic basis for the game Lotz. This, in turn, has the opportunity to present a very wide range of possibilities. His inspirations are not limited only to jazz - in his game one can sense the strong element of world music or even folk music. The rich experience and skills of the trio, varied repertoire and atmosphere of the chamber jam session are elements that allow to record a disc that can delight both critics and people who are just beginning to discover the fascinating world of jazz.
