Born in Versailles, France, Alexandre started studying bass when he was 14 years. In order to expand his musical skills and get closer to the origins of American music, he moved to Philadelphia at the end of 2013. He continued onto the University of the Arts.
During his time at the University of the Arts, Alex was selected to join the University of the Arts Z Big Band and performed at the 2017 Monterey Jazz Festival. Alex graduated from the University of the Arts in May 2018 and received The Presidential Award and The Jazz Bass Award.
He released his first EP album in Spring 2018 entitled “ The French Quarter” and plans on releasing his second album in Spring 2019 entitled “ To My Brothers” featuring John Swana.
He has studied with many musicians such as: Steve Beskrone, Mike Boone, Ben Wolfe, Anthony Tidd, Alexander Claffy, John Swana. He performs regularly in Philadelphia at Time Restaurant, Paris Wine Bar, The Rittenhouse Hotel, Heritage, Paris Bistro, Chris’ Jazz Café along with other places in and around Philadelphia. In the summer of 2016, he also started playing in New York City in different places such as Rockwood Music Hall and Tavern on The Green.
Alex’s long-time passion for jazz as well as many others genres of music has allowed him to develop his own voice on the double and electric bass. He plans to continue in the Philadelphia area playing the music he loves for years to come.
