Miltos Mumulides - The Magic of Clarinet (2019)

Miltiadis Moumoulidis (Miltos Mumulides) is a phenomenal musician, one of the greatest masters of his art, and the best clarinetist I have ever heard. Since 1991 principal clarinetist of Cologne New Philharmonic he is now a professor at the University of Macedonia GR in Thessaloniki, Greece.
For many years, he has been a wonderful inspiration for us on many chamber music tours around the world and as soloist with our symphony orchestra.
On this Album, he gives incredible performances of famous Virtuosic showpieces for his instrument.
Under the title „Magic of the Clarinet“ this 2-set Album consists of the most popular and dazzling works for this beautiful instrument. The pieces were composed of the greatest virtuosos of the 19th century and famous composers who were in love with the sound of the clarinet. Volker Hartung and the Cologne New Philharmonic Orchestra are accompanying Mr. Moumoulidis. Also presented here is a lively recording of Carl Maria von Weber’s Clarinet Quintet with soloists of the orchestra. Italian violinist Davide Toso plays 1st Violin, Christine Kaulbach, 2nd violin, Pavel Ulanicki, Cello and Volker Hartung plays the viola part.
