Hanna Elmquist - Spring (2010)

Hanna Elmquist is one of the most shining stars among jazz singers from Sweden. Hertrademark, full-bodied voice and impeccable, swinging phrasing make her stand out on the flourishing jazz scene. On her latest album SPRING, she wrote, arranged and produced almost all of the music herself. Stylistically, the music and lyrics cover a wide range, and the sound scape is enhanced with woodwinds and organs. Reed player Björn Jansson plays the saxophone and clarinets and also wrote three of the songs. Also playing on the record are Daniel Tilling on piano, organ and Wurlitzer, Lars Ekman on bass, and Daniel Fredriksson on drums.
