Konrad Ligas & Band - GYPSY (2019)

Accordionist Konrad Ligas with the album Gypsy pays tribute to the French guitarist Biréli Lagrène. The record, consisting mostly of Django Reinhardt's composition, was recorded mainly in the trio - accordion, guitar and double bass - as well as with the violin, clarinet and saxophone.

"The album is an attempt to show that an accordion can find itself in jazz music as a leading instrument, leading versatile melodic lines" - explains Konrad Ligas. The accordionist invited Janusz Witka to work on the clarinet and tenor sax, Dominik Bieńczycki on the violin, Marek Piątek on the guitar and Józef Michalik on the double bass. Konrad Ligas is a graduate of the Academy of Music in Krakow in the accordion class of prof. Janusz Pater. He gained experience by playing with Janusz Muniak, Wojciech Groborzem, Rob Lakatos and Francesco Buzzurro.
