Shakedown is the debut LP from Vipertime. From their birth in the snakepit of Leeds house parties, the group ventured into the studio and is now out in the wild.

The album began as band leaders Ben Powling and Matias Reed immersed themselves in the ethio-jazz of Mulatu Astatke before refracting the sound through their record collections, spanning 60s garage, psychedelia and free jazz.

After forming in early 2018 as a free improvising group Vipertime recorded their All Our Heroes Are Dead EP which received radio play on BBC 3, Worldwide FM and BBC Introducing. By the end of the year the band had settled on a permanent line up featuring members of Roller Trio, Mansion of Snakes, WorldService Project, KOG & The Zongo Brigade and Wandering Monster.

Shakedown shows Vipertime in sharp focus and with lethal intent, unleashing pounding drums, skittering percussion, snarling bass and impassioned saxophone moving between driving riffs and agile improvisation.
