Andrzej Kowalski Quartet - Abstrakt (2019)

The abstract is the debut of the guitarist and composer Andrzej Kowalski, who, together with his quartet, combines jazz with elements of electronic and rock music, while ensuring the preservation of a proper dose of improvisation.

The album will contain original compositions by Kowalski. "I try to differentiate the compositions in terms of form and always challenge myself and my teammates," says the leader. The composition of the band is completed by saxophonist Robert Wypasek, bassist Jan Wierzbicki and drummer Adam Wajdzik.

This quartet year can be considered particularly successful. He won the Grand Prix Lotos Jazz Festival, Bielska Zadymka Jazzowa and the ZAiKS Association of Authors' Association at the Santander Jazz on the Oder festival. The abstract was realized thanks to the next prize - in the Jazz Phonographic Debut competition of the Institute of Music and Dance.

The album will be released on June 15 by the EBS Group Records. The premiere concert will take place on July 5 at the Warsaw Summer Jazz Days festival.
